Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. The last month has been filled with ups and downs.... but who said the Road to Rio would be easy and smooth :)
I must say, taking June to regroup was big for our team. We trained, did rehab, and prepared at home for the rest of the tour stops this summer. With Kerri being back 100% we started back on the road on June 24th to play in the World Champs. Although we didn't get the result at the World Champs that we wanted, taking 9th, it was a stepping stone, an eye opener, and a great experience for the three of us. We spent time together, going through all the emotions that one could possibly go through. Whether we were laughing or frustrated, we were together and that is something the three of us needed during this long process to the Rio Olympics in 2016. After the loss at The World Champs, we took the next few days to prepare for the next tournament. We had a day off to regroup, then had a double day, practiced with Casey Patterson and Jake Gibb, and then traveled to the next stop....Gstaad, Switzerland!
Gstaad, Switzerland is one of my favorite tour stops! It is the perfect scenery. I was lucky enough to stay with Danny, the Spain Coach, in a hotel which is walking distance from the town. The hotel is perfect and this town is straight out of a book. It's unbelievable!
We continued double days when we arrived in Gstaad! Kerri and April are working hard and I know we are taking steps in the right direction... It is a process, a long road, we need to remember that!
We started pool play today and won both of our matches! We are off to a great start and are ready to take it one match at a time. We will play one match tomorrow. After all, thats the best part about this tour, each week you get to start over!
Thanks for cheering all the USA teams on from back home :) 🇺🇸
Oh and I almost forgot... 10 days till Antonio is back!
